So, we all know that the vikings beat Columbus across the ocean, but could it be that there had been a Roman presence in the Americas long before even that? If so it may explain how the Mayans were able to accomplish so much with their seemingly simple technology. Archeologists have been making some strange discoveries at an Olmec-Mayan site that all but prove that there was indeed a Roman presence in the Americas at least 1,000 years before Columbus! Not only have they discovered Roman style kiln dried bricks and a sculpture of a head, the bricks are covered in Roman mason symbols.
